Let us ‘transport’ you on a scenic and cultural journey through Bavaria, where you’ll experience some of the magic and variety of landscapes, iconic landmarks, and traditions of Germany’s largest region and beyond.

With our original immersive 360° VR tour, you'll discover a range of destinations and get a feel for moving around in Bavaria by different means. Marvel at the striking towers of Munich’s cityscape, journey through the Alpine foothills to the fairy-tale silhouette of Neuschwanstein Castle, soak up the peaceful charm of Chiemsee’s lakeside shores, and cross into Austria to the elegant squares of bordering Salzburg, meeting some locals along the way.

Participants will have the opportunity to taste Bavarian food specialities as part of our real-world, hands-on, multi-sensory set-up, and uncover the contrast between Bavaria’s historic traditions and modern identity.

German learners will be able to practise essential travel interaction through role-play, from buying tickets and navigating timetables to planning an itinerary and asking for recommendations.

Linked creative, cultural, and culinary workshops are available for a deeper dive into this theme (e.g. making pretzels from scratch; designing a maypole or dream castle; exploring the differences between Bavarian and standard German).

In-person 'pop-up' visits:

We bring all resources to your location and set up the immersive experience in a suitable space for the number and needs of participants, with a dedicated space for the 360° VR tour.

Participants join sessions in groups (up to 30 at a time) to go on their own personal and collective virtual journeys around the space, engaging with different activities - facilitated by All Abroad! Bus linguist, any available linguist helpers and supporting adults in setting.

A few participants at a time enjoy the 360° VR tour in Oculus Quest headsets (typically lasting a few minutes), with a tablet version available for anyone not comfortable in a headset.

Minimum duration of visit: 1 whole day, or half-day if within a smaller radius, made up of:
- multiple sessions, usually up to 1 hour per group for main experience, rotating groups;
- and/or extended sessions with same group(s) through linked workshops.
