Let us 'transport' you to the very heart of Dieppe’s famous Saturday morning market, where you will enjoy a feast for all the senses that encapsulates the essence of local life in France and transforms this historic port town into bustling charm from its usual calm.

With our original immersive 360° VR tour, you will wander through this colourful market and feel its pulse and warmth for yourself, as you stop at stalls and meet friendly, passionate artisanal vendors selling their wares and chatting about the origin, fabrication and preparation.

With different stalls set up as part of our multi-sensory, multimedia installation, participants will be encouraged to interact with produce and sample new flavours, all set against a stunning backdrop of Dieppe's port, castle and coastal views.

French learners in schools and other settings will be able to try out their own lively vendor-buyer interactions through role-play, learn or practise common phrases, expressing preferences and how to describe food tastes, textures and smells. exploring the nuances of life in France.

Linked creative, cultural, and culinary workshops are available for a deeper dive into this theme (eg. preparing French dishes from scratch, designing own artisan goods, comparing French markets with UK ones).

In-person 'pop-up' visits:

We bring all resources to your location and set up the immersive experience in a suitable space for the number and needs of participants, with a dedicated space for the 360° VR tour.

Participants join sessions in groups (up to 30 at a time) to go on their own personal and collective virtual journeys around the space, engaging with different activities - facilitated by All Abroad! Bus linguist, any available linguist helpers and supporting adults in setting.

A few participants at a time enjoy the 360° VR tour in Oculus Quest headsets (typically lasting a few minutes), with a tablet version available for anyone not comfortable in a headset.

Minimum duration of visit: 1 whole day, or half-day if within a smaller radius, made up of:
- multiple sessions, usually up to 1 hour per group for main experience, rotating groups;
- and/or extended sessions with same group(s) through linked workshops.
