All Abroad! Fun French Town Quest

Step into a mini French adventure right here in Newhaven town!

This 90‑minute experience invites children to explore the town as detectives looking for clues and fun facts that connect Newhaven to France, both today and in times gone by. No passports required!

Led by Julia Vogado, local language tutor and founder of All Abroad! Bus, families will follow a gentle trail from town to beach, from port to fort. Children will hunt for clues, try a little French in a relaxed way, and enjoy playful, hands‑on moments along the route.

We finish in a special location where children can enjoy an immersive 360° VR tour to Dieppe - a joyful finale that brings the whole adventure together.

It’s mostly outdoors (whatever the weather!), playful and designed to spark curiosity. Not a lesson, not a tour, just a mini escape that brings Newhaven’s French connections to life.

Who it's for

Best suited to children aged 7+, as we cover a good distance (2-3 miles).
Younger siblings are welcome.
Children must be accompanied by a parent/carer, who remains responsible throughout.

Dates & times

Monday 16th, Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 18th February 2026
Morning sessions: 10.30am–12 noon
Afternoon sessions: 1.30pm–3pm

Meeting point

Meet at 10.30am / 1.30pm in front of Newhaven Tourist Information Centre, at the entrance to Marine Workshops, next to Mamoosh Riverside Café (open Tues & Wed 7am–4pm; closed Mondays).

Extra moments

Monday 16th: We’ll watch the 11am ferry depart.
Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 18th: Families can watch the 10am ferry from West Quay before joining us at 10.30am.
Bring a picnic, or visit The Hope Inn for moules frites as a starter or main course!
