Let us ‘transport’ you to the heart of a traditional German market, where vibrant sights, intense aromas, and lively stallholders create an unforgettable atmosphere.

Our original, immersive 360° VR tour will have you stepping into the shoes of local shoppers as you navigate the bustling market, chatting with vendors while sampling and ordering from the feast of flavours on offer, from giant gherkins to a smorgasbord of bread spreads, from sizzling sausages and Leberkäse to freshly baked pretzels, and colourful fruit and vegetables.

Participants will be encouraged to interact with real market stall displays, handle and taste authentic foods, find out about different products, and take on engaging challenges.

German learners will put their language skills into practice - role playing as buyers and sellers, handling money, and using key phrases to negotiate.

Linked creative, cultural, and culinary workshops are available for a deeper dive into this theme (e.g. making bread spreads, exploring food & drink culture in Germany, or designing your own market stall).

In-person 'pop-up' visits:

We bring all resources to your location and set up the immersive experience in a suitable space for the number and needs of participants, with a dedicated space for the 360° VR tour.

Participants join sessions in groups (up to 30 at a time) to go on their own personal and collective virtual journeys around the space, engaging with different activities - facilitated by All Abroad! Bus linguist, any available linguist helpers and supporting adults in setting.

A few participants at a time enjoy the 360° VR tour in Oculus Quest headsets (typically lasting a few minutes), with a tablet version available for anyone not comfortable in a headset.

Minimum duration of visit: 1 whole day, or half-day if within a smaller radius, made up of:
- multiple sessions, usually up to 1 hour per group for main experience, rotating groups;
- and/or extended sessions with same group(s) through linked workshops.
